On
Sunday, Lorrain Ebedes & Helen Kirstein together with Ronel
Broodryk & Sophia Whitehead got off to a sizzling start posting
49 points in better-ball stableford.
Monday's
honours went to Annette Lawson & Ina Sanders on 48 points.
Tuesday
brought in two pairs on 49 points: Margaret Tanner & Jean Mills as well
as locals Margaret Sherratt & Sandi Luus.
The winning
overall score of 139 points was 9 ahead of the 2010 total - a clear
indication of the effects of the 'new' handicapping system.
The evenings
were 'party time' and Sunday night
included the now 'famous' Southbroom Dance Troupe ably assisted by 'Broer
Jan (player 23)' and a Fashion Show of willing members strutting
the latest in golf attire. 'Tiger Woods' also put in a brief (if not
provocative?) appearance: Sex addict? Yeah? Right! Sure! Me too! You'll
have to take a look at the pics . . .
It was light hearted fun
with a great meal, good singing and plenty of dancing rounding off an enjoyable
evening.
The
entertainment on Monday evening was provided by a one-man-band who kept
the dance floor rocking the night away.
Southbroom did itself proud yet again thanks to the hard
work of the committee, members, staff, and the generosity of the
tournament sponsors.
Special mention must be made of the catering throughout the tournament -
Natalie and her team excelled themselves and certainly received the
biggest round of applause at prize-giving. Sincere thanks to you all.
We thank all players
for their support, especially those who travelled long distances. If not before, we look forward to seeing
you all again
in The 2011 Ladies Classic. For a few fond memories,
